Gwen Ka’awaloa Appointed Newest Member of USDF Sport Horse Faculty
Lexington, KY (September 23, 2024) - The United States Dressage Federation™ (USDF) is pleased to announce that, upon completion of the USDF Sport Horse Faculty Apprentice Program, Gwen Ka’awaloa of Elizabeth, CO, has been approved as the newest member of the USDF Sport Horse Faculty.
In addition to being a USEF ‘R’ Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Judge, Gwen is a USEF ‘S’ Dressage Judge with Freestyle, Young Horse, and Equitation designations, a USDF Certified Instructor through 4th level, and she has earned her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals. Gwen also serves as chair of the USDF Outreach, Awareness, and Inclusion Taskforce and was named 2022 USDF Volunteer of the Year. It is due to her extensive knowledge and experience that Gwen has also been selected to serve as lead presenter in the upcoming USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeder/Handler Seminar, held at Dressage at Devon, along with Noel Williams and Natalie DiBerardinis.
Kristi Wysocki, Sport Horse Committee Chair and long-time fellow DSHB Judge, praised the appointment, stating “Gwen is well-versed in DSHB judging, professional in manner, and a natural educator. Gwen brings her years of breeding and judging experience to assist the Sport Horse Faculty with the promotion of breeding and showing of dressage sport horses, as well as training future DSHB Judges.”
